Sarah's House of Maine was created to ease the burdens faced by patients and caregivers who must travel far from home to receive lifesaving medical care. Sarah’s House, founded in memory of Sarah Robinson, provides free temporary lodging and support for cancer patients and caregivers traveling to the Bangor-Brewer area for medical treatment. Since opening its doors, the organization has welcomed over 780 guests at no cost to them and their caregivers.
Yesterday's groundbreaking ceremony marked the beginning of construction of The Elevated Expansion Project, which will add four additional guest rooms and accessibility upgrades to Sarah's House. The expansion includes a new elevator and several critical infrastructure improvements to better support guests with mobility challenges. The project, designed by WBRC, is being built by Bowman Constructors.
