Some things are worth preserving because of the stories they carry.

This truck has been around a lot longer than CMGC.

Its original owner was Grace Kinney of Starboard, Maine. In 1965, Donald Small Jr. purchased the truck from Grace, becoming its second owner and adding another chapter to its story.

More than 60 years later, that history still matters.

In construction, we spend most of our days focused on building what’s next. But at CMGC we understand there’s also a lot of value in understanding what came before us.

Old buildings. Old tools. Old trucks.

They remind us of a time when things were built to last, cared for, repaired, and passed from one person to the next.

That’s a philosophy we still believe in today.

Build it well. Take care of it. Respect its history.

And hopefully leave it a little better for the person who comes next.

Sometimes preserving the past is part of building the future.

Preserving the character of a 19 hundreds Maine home requires thoughtful planning, skilled construction workers, and respect for its original design.
