As a Funeral Driver Technician at Chesapeake Burial Vault, you will be working outdoors, IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS providing customer service to deliver and install concrete burial vaults as well as preparing for graveside committal services at the cemetery. Professional conduct and appearance are important to our customers and the families they serve more than any other position in the company. The families we serve have just experienced the significant and stressful loss of a loved one. Our role is to make their burial experience respectful, dignified, and flawless thus allowing them to move forward and grieve. OVERVIEW
Chesapeake Burial is currently looking for a full-time Assistant Mechanic who is highly motivated with a positive attitude to join our team and focus on providing the maintenance and upkeep on our vehicle fleet. The Assistant Mechanic under the direction of the Lead Mechanic, Owner or GM will assists and/or work independently in the repairing and preventative maintenance of various gasoline, diesel or hydraulic powered equipment. The Assistant Mechanic will also assist in maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building with safety procedures being a top priority. Overtime is always available and there is no risk of layoffs.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training preferred.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Requires a working knowledge of the general operation of gasoline, diesel, and hydraulic powered equipment.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written direction
• Requires a mechanical ability; ability to use common mechanical tools.
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
• This position may be required to work weekends.

As a mini excavator operator at Chesapeake Burial Vault, the qualified candidate will be working in cemeteries along the eastern shore and beyond opening gravesites for installation of our concrete burial vaults and services. Our company operates in all weather conditions 7 days a week including evenings, weekends and some holidays to provide services to our customers during difficult times. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Drive dump truck and equipment trailer to cemetery location
• Excavating grave space for funeral service
• Installation of concrete burial vault into gravesite
• Backfill gravesite as needed.
• Maintain a clean vehicle and equipment

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Must pass drug screen and DOT medical exam
• Excavator operating experience required; front end loader & skid steer knowledge
• Experience driving dump-truck while towing excavator on trailer as well as loading and unloading machine.
• Job will require working outdoors exposed to all types of weather conditions.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs.
• Self-motivated with little supervision.
• Maintain a clean and respectful personal appearance.
• Weekend availability, most Saturday’s.
• Customer Service oriented.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Detail Oriented.
