Armag Legend: Bobby McDonald
Bobby McDonald spent more than five decades helping build the company we know today as Armag. He began in 1953 as a general laborer and eventually retired as General Manager, taking on many different roles along the way.
Earlier this year marked five years since Bobby’s passing, and we want to take a moment to remember his contributions and the person he was.
Bobby worked hard and took an interest in the people around him. Long before the internet became part of everyday life, he enjoyed hearing from customers about their lives, their communities, and what was happening in their part of the world. He wanted to get to know the people he was doing business with, and those conversations mattered to him.
Those who worked alongside Bobby also remember his sense of humor. He was a prankster, always ready with a joke or a way to make someone laugh.
Bobby had a simple way of expressing his view of work ethic:
“You can tell what kind of worker a person is by the way they walk.”
His own work ethic, willingness to take on whatever needed doing, and relationships with people helped shape Armag over the years. His story is an important part of our history, and one we want to keep sharing.
We remember Bobby with gratitude for all he gave to this company—and with a smile for the humor he brought to the workday.
