-Keep exhaust and intake vents clear of snow and ice.
-Make sure your air filters are clean or take them completely out to restrict as least amount of air as possible.
-Set thermostat to a couple degrees lower than usual to allow furnace to cycle on and off.
- Your equipment might run constantly, non stop trying to keep home warm.
- If you have a STANDARD heat pump, your system will not be able to maintain set temperature and outdoor unit will run non stop. It would be best to put thermostat on Aux/Emergency heat during the night. Your heat pump will produce very little too no heat in these frigid temps.
-If your furnace is high efficiency and located in the attic or crawl space. Your drain line will most likely freeze and prevent furnace from operating. If so thaw as soon as possible or wrap drain line with heat tape.
Stay safe, Stay warm we are here if you need us.
