Venetian plaster is a crushed marble/lime compound that is troweled on the wall and the layers are compressed when burnished to a smooth finish. It is then waxed to be water resistant. Or it can be sealed and then waxed to be water proof. This is a bathroom I am working on. The walls are all waxed and the shower walls will be sealed and waxed for the tadelakt finish.
