The Small Press operator operates an injection molding machine, removing
parts from molds, cleaning excess plastic from the parts, inspecting then packing the parts. This position reports to the shift Molding Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 May run more than one machine per shift.
 Communicates with previous and next shift’s operator about any problems with
the parts, machine or any special instructions for the job that is running
 Has proper tools for the job they are assigned to
 Removes parts from machine, makes sure part meets quality requirements,
removes excess plastic off part, Cleans oil, dirt or grease from part and packs into
carton, container or basket
 Records number of good parts, number of scrap parts with accuracy
 Writes needed information on cartons and assists others when work is caught up
 Moves completed boxes to skid
 Completes paperwork with accurate numbers
 Communicates machine or production problems to Supervisor or Utility person
 Watches machine hoppers to make sure material is getting into machines
 Other duties as required by supervisor or other management
 Frequently lifts and/or move up to 32 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves
up to 50 pounds.
 High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months
related experience and/or training
 Ability to read and write English
 Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
 Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in
written, oral or diagram form.
 The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
 Good Housekeeping
 Stand for 8 hour shift
 Follows all safety requirement's

Summary: The Mold Hanger handles injection molding tools/molds and installs them in injection molding machines using tow-motors, overhead cranes and other mechanical means. This position reports to the Supervisor of the shift in the Molding Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installs molds in injection molding machines
- Retrieves mold from storage with tow motor; by positioning mold inside clamp, lining up knock-out rods and location ring
- Closes clamp, sets switches, pressurizes and removes from hoist
- Makes final adjustments to switches, sets knock-outs, traces water lines and hook-ups on supplies and returns. Checks and repairs all leaks and breaks
- Sets up all auxiliary floor equipment for operation
- Produces parts until machine is producing good pieces and informs Molding Supervisor that the first piece inspection can be done
- Cleans up around machine before operator comes to machine
- Removes molds from injection molding machines
- Sprays mold with rust preventative
- Shuts down water and removes lines
- Closes mold and pressurizes, shuts machine down completely and removes clamps from mold
- Opens machine and removes mold with tow motor
- Takes mold to proper storage area
- Works on machines when problems occur
- Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Cleans molds during shift
- Counts and replaces shop rags
- Assists in giving breaks to operators
- Writes work orders for tooling damage or machine breakdowns
- Changes L.P. gas tanks on tow motors when necessary
- Other duties as required by Supervisor or other member of management
