Location: SWM/Blauer Manufacturing (Batesville/Coffeeville)

JOB SUMMARY:
The primary function of this position as a Sewing Machine Mechanic/Maintenance Technician is performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment; specifically sewing matching repairs, according to safety, preventive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have mechanical experience
• Industrial sewing machine experience preferred
• Candidate must be flexible to work beyond normal shift with short notice
• Hourly rate will commensurate with experience
• Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
• 1-3 years of industrial experience

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, Day Shift/Weekends/Overtime
EDUCATION
• High School diploma, or GED
• Preferred completion of a craft apprenticeship, vocational or technical certificate, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for repairing industrial sewing machines (brands include: juki, Adler, Brother, Consew, Pfaff, Singer)
• Makes repairs to production and facility equipment using skills in the areas of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronics, carpentry and HVAC Systems (preferred)
• Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment and maintain logs
• Performs routine inspections on machines, systems and building as needed to maintain the integrity of equipment and insure safe operation
• Adheres to all safety regulations and rules both internal to the plant, as well as state and national codes in the performance of daily duties
• Maintains clean and orderly work area
• Installs and remove equipment as necessary to support production schedules
• Uses electrical multi-meters, gauges and test instruments in process of maintaining equipment and troubleshooting problems with machinery and equipment
• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Diagnoses problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
• Detect faulty operations, operative material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
• Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the company
• Adheres to all quality standards
• Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to work from verbal and written instructions
• Ability to read measuring devices
• Ability to read shop drawings
• HVAC Certified (preferred)
• Demonstrates proficiency in mechanic skills including, but not limited to: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
• Ability to work as a member of a team
• Flexibility to work adjusted schedules and overtime when required
• Appropriate PPE usage as dictated by the job
• Operation of small power tools, other hand tools and computerized and high-pressure equipment
• Goal oriented and team focused to ensure completion of projects in a timely manner
