CCTI is growing!

We’re excited to welcome our latest team member, Andrew, as a Composite Tech 1. Andrew is a Maine native just like CCTI and is an avid kayaker. (He can tell you the best spots around the mid-coast).

Andrew is new to the composites industry but brings a strong work ethic, positive attitude and curiosity to the job and we’re so glad to have him on our growing team.

Our awesome crew member, Issac, working on some details for new toe rails to fit a 40x Hinckley yacht.

Toe rails are safety features that are installed along the deck's perimeter. They provide critical stability for footing, ensure that equipment stays on board, and serve as mounting points for lines or blocks.

We created these specific parts using a vacuum-infusion process with fiberglass.

Project highlight: Rooftop for a 38’

Below you can see our team hard at work installing cured fiberglass caps over fabricated wire chases for a 38” rooftop.

Rooftops need to be strong but relatively lightweight with a polished finish, making them an excellent and common use case for composite manufacturing.

This is a custom rooftop project which typically has a liner to incorporate the wire chases, yet we built in the wire chase and finished over them to be unseen.

Project highlight: Pilot House Rebuild

In the shots below you can see a recent job our team completed to rebuild a 14’x10’ pilot house for a 38 ft luxury yacht. Key features of this project was a rebuild of the inner skin and added structural core, as well as an outer skin with a built-in rooftop fl**ge.

Our customer wanted the pilot house structurally sound with a smooth preparation, ready for a final gel-coat finishing.
