Founded in 1959
Sixty member companies representing 100 sites in Louisiana
Governed by a Board of Directors that consists of senior company representatives, either plant manager or divisional vice presidents, comprise the 17-member Board that governs the association. Experienced staff that includes ten employees with expertise in the chemical industry, environmental, health, safety, security, governmental affairs, communication and association management. LCA has seven committees that are chaired and vice-chaired by the members of the LCA Board of Directors. Each committee member is a plant employee who works in the areas covered by the committee. The committees are:
Governmental Affairs
Environmental Affairs
Legal Affairs
Communications
Health & Safety
Security
Workforce Development

Each committee identifies issues to be addressed in their respective areas, ranks them in importance and recommends financial resources to address them. These committees meet and report to the LCA Board on a monthly basis. Each year the committees submit a strategic plan and budget to the membership for approval. These budgets, known as the Strategic Issues Budget (SIB) are restricted dues and are used for committee projects.

President and CEO David Cresson will represent Louisiana Chemistry Association as a presenter during ACCF’s Louisiana Economic and Energy Security Summit later this week, on October 15 in New Orleans. The panel will be called “Made in America: Building the Next Industrial Base.” Thank you to the American Council for Capitol Formation for the invitation…we are looking forward to seeing many of you there!

It was great to take part in Greater Baton Rouge Industry Alliance (GBRIA)’s Women in Industry event yesterday! We loved seeing so many women sharing their experiences and showing the next generation what a career in industry can look like. Events like this give young women a chance to learn about the wide range of careers available and hear directly from the women already doing the work. Another great LAMP Golf Tournament in Lake Charles! ⛳ We enjoyed a full day at Contraband Bayou Golf Club with our Region 4 LCA and LCIA members and a great group of golfers out on the course. LCA was able to join Parish leaders from across Louisiana for a firsthand look at one of the largest industrial builds underway just north of Baton Rouge. West Feliciana Parish President Kenny Havard led a field trip to the early construction of Hut 8’s River Bend campus near St. Francisville, a multibillion-dollar AI data center project rising just south of Entergy’s River Bend Station. Parish presidents from around the state walked the site, saw day-to-day construction in action, and had the chance to ask questions about scale, infrastructure, and what a project like this means for a local community. The activity on the ground is already striking with more than 1,000 workers on site. The campus sits on more than 1,000 acres, with about 260 acres planned for the developed footprint. When complete, the building is expected to span about 600,000 square feet. Power for the project will come from Entergy's existing nuclear generation site just down the road. Hut 8 is an example of how innovative Louisiana parishes are attracting the next generation industry.
