LCA strongly supports Louisiana House Bill 807! Rep. Ken Brass is doing outstanding work with this legislation to establish the Workforce Instructor Capacity Investment Program. This smart investment will expand instructor capacity in our community and technical colleges, helping train more Louisianans for high-paying jobs in growing industries like manufacturing and construction. With major projects underway in our state, this bill ensures our workforce is ready to seize these opportunities. Thank you, Rep. Brass, for your vision and leadership in building a stronger Louisiana!

LCA’s President David Cresson was invited to speak to the Gulf Coast Industrial Group (GCIG) today on SOWELA Technical Community College Campus.

A huge thank you to GCIG’s President Travis Woods and the entire GCIC team for the invitation and warm hospitality. It was a productive meeting connecting with contractors and leaders across the gulf coast region.

We truly appreciated the warm welcome and opportunity to discuss the strength of Louisiana’s chemical manufacturing sector.

Events like this remind us how strong our industry network is when we work together!

We’re proud to announce Kate Lightfoot of ExxonMobil as the new Chair of the LCA Board of Directors!

Kate brings over two decades of experience in the chemical industry, with a strong track record of operational leadership and large-scale site management. She joined the ExxonMobil Baton Rouge team as the first female Chemical Plant Manager and currently serves as the Baton Rouge Integrated Complex Manager, overseeing both the refinery and chemical plant. She has played a key role in advancing performance, safety, and growth across ExxonMobil’s operations.

Upon joining the LCA Board, Kate immediately stepped into a leadership role as Government Affairs Committee Chair, helping guide our legislative efforts and offering valuable perspective at a critical time for our industry. She played an important role in our association’s rebrand, sharing thoughtful insight drawn from her prior association experience that helped shape the direction of our organization’s voice.

We look forward to working alongside Kate and are excited for the perspective and leadership she brings to the Board!
