Manual Lathe Machinist (Operator)
Hadley Precision is in Need of a Manual Lathe Machinist for our Baton Rouge Shop. Preferred candidate should have above basic knowledge of the operation of a Manual lathe. Familiar with the following equipment. Kingston – HP 2000, LeBlond - 4025
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strong machining background
• Good attention to detail
• Inspect and measure part to determine conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments such as gauges and micrometers.
• Lift and position work pieces, manually or with hoists, and secure them safely.
• Observe machine operations to detect any problems, making necessary adjustments to correct problems.
• Select machine tooling to be used, using knowledge of machine and production requirements.
• Read and interpret prints, work orders and machining instructions to determine product specifications, tool requirements, and operational sequences.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education: High School Graduate (preferred)
2. Skills & Experience: Basic shop math skills, mechanical minded, 7+years running a manual lathe.
3. Physical Requirements: Standing for long periods of time, exposure to a Fast-Paced fabrication & machining environment, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
