Part 6

Metal Roof Rejuvenation

Check and inspect all fasteners. Every screw is inspected for gasket failure and tightened as necessary.

Over time, screws can start to back themselves out due to weather conditions. Since this roof has seen many active hurricane seasons, there were quite a few with this issue.

This video is a very small clip of this painstaking process where we literally inspect fasteners in the thousands.

Metal Roof Rejuvenation

Prime Coat

Full transparency, we’re going a little out of order. Typically we change out screws prior to applying the prime coat. However, this roof has a couple things going on for it that make it necessary to switch the steps.

First of all, the roof has been up there a LONG time and it’s very rusty. Applying a prime coat will help us identify any problem areas we need to treat extra special prior to applying the top two coats.

Secondly, it might not look it, but the front of this roof is rather step. The prime coat creates a slightly tacky surface allowing for added safety on the roof to allow our guys time to fully evaluate each screw and facet of this roof for repair.
