With our upcoming shop expansion getting closer, Wolf has been making some internal changes to help keep everything running smoothly.

We started by building additional office space upstairs and moved our project managers in first. They quickly made it their own!

At the same time, we upgraded to sit/stand desks to give our team more flexibility throughout the workday.

Next up, we plan to move our permitting team upstairs once we have a few more desks in hand.

It’s been great seeing the new space come together, and there are plenty more changes ahead as we continue preparing for the shop expansion!

Planning for the next chapter should not mean sacrificing comfort, independence, or time with family.

A modular home can offer a thoughtful option for seniors who want to age in place, downsize, or live close to loved ones in a private backyard cottage or ADU. With features such as single-level layouts, zero-step entries, wide doorways, and accessible bathrooms, the home can be designed for everyday comfort now and long-term mobility later.

What does it take to turn an ambitious goal into hundreds of completed homes?

Back in 2017, the Wolf Industries team set a goal: build 740 homes by the end of 2027.

Today, that target has grown to 900 homes - and the team is on track to reach it.

That number represents a lot more than production. It represents years of learning, refining the process, expanding manufacturing capacity, solving difficult projects, and building a team capable of delivering homes again and again.

If you’re considering a modular home, one of the biggest questions is simple: How do you know the builder you choose has the experience to actually get your project across the finish line?

Wolf Industries started with two builders chasing the next job. Today, we’ve built hundreds of homes, expanded into multiple manufacturing shops, and taken on everything from individual homes to multi-unit housing communities.

What happens when a standard Model J gets a very non-standard twist?

This special tall-gable Model J was just placed on its foundation in Ocean Shores, Washington, and it’s already turning heads.

The taller gable gives this home a noticeably different profile, but there’s an important detail: this is a special project. It’s not something we currently expect to add to our regular lineup as a standard Model J option.

That’s part of what makes projects like this interesting. Every property, jurisdiction, delivery route, and customer need can bring a different set of possibilities and challenges.

Wondering, “Can I actually put a Wolf home on my property?”

That’s the question to answer before getting too attached to a particular floor plan or design idea.

As Wolf Industries prepares to partner with Community Roots on another housing project in East Vancouver, we’re looking back at Fruit Valley Terrace - a community designed to provide stable housing and supportive services for people transitioning out of homelessness.

Built in Vancouver’s Fruit Valley neighborhood, the project includes 21 furnished modular homes, each with a private kitchen, bathroom, and living space, alongside recovery-focused support services. It demonstrates what can happen when a nonprofit, public partners, and modular construction work toward a shared goal: creating practical, lasting housing solutions.

The next Community Roots project will feature two-story units, continuing this important work in Vancouver to give those in need a path out of homelessness.

1. Background & Vision In 2020–21, Community Roots Collaborative (C-Roots) transformed an 1870s railway switch station in Vancouver’s Fruit Valley neighborhood into a vibrant, supportive housing community. This marked the nonprofit’s inaugural project to address homelessness in Clark County th...

On this , Wolf Industries co-founder Derek Huegel shares lessons learned through our multi-unit modular developments.

Every project has reinforced the value of early planning, clear communication, and coordinating the details from feasibility through factory production, site work, delivery, and installation. Those lessons help us create a more predictable path from an idea to occupied homes.

Modular and manufactured housing are often mistaken for each other - but they are not the same.

The difference starts with how each home is built, regulated, and installed. Manufactured homes are built to HUD standards on a permanent steel chassis. Modular homes are built to the same residential building codes as site-built homes, engineered for their specific location, and installed on permanent foundations.

At Wolf Industries, our homes are built indoors in a controlled factory environment, then delivered and set on site. That process allows for focused quality control, less exposure to weather, and a coordinated path from design through installation.
