Not all blower door test results shock us like this one.

This home achieved an impressive 1.43 ACH50, meaning the building envelope is exceptionally well sealed. That is the result of careful planning, quality materials, and attention to the smallest details throughout the entire construction process.

Not every mistake is made by the builder. But every mistake on our job site is our responsibility to address.

On this home, we found the window flashing tape had been installed over the bottom fl**ge of the window. The bottom of a window is designed to let any water that gets behind the siding drain back out. Covering that weep path can trap moisture where you don’t want it.

It’s a detail that might seem small, but details like this matter.

The solution? Every affected window will be corrected before we move forward. We’d rather spend the time fixing it now than leave something hidden behind the walls that could become a problem years from now.

Building a quality home isn’t about never finding issues. It’s about having the standards to catch them and the integrity to make them right.

A blower door test is one of the final quality checks before a home is complete.

By temporarily pressurizing the home, we can identify unwanted air leaks that aren’t visible to the eye. The results help verify that the home is sealed the way it was designed to be.
