One of the best parts of any project is reaching the point where the vision starts becoming reality.

Today was one of those days.

The existing wall came out, the new opening took shape, and for the first time you can really see how this space is going to connect to the new elevated outdoor living area.

There's still plenty of work ahead, but seeing that future view come to life makes all the planning and preparation worth it.

We're excited to keep this one moving.

This custom front-entry transformation is really starting to take shape.

What began as a simple existing porch is evolving into a fully reimagined architectural outdoor entry experience featuring:

• custom timber framing
• integrated gable roof expansion
• premium TANZITE stone decking
• custom stair integration
• and refined finish detailing throughout.

Every stage of this project has been intentionally designed to blend craftsmanship, durability, and mountain-home character into one cohesive structure.

Tomorrow is roof day, and we’re excited to see the next major phase come together.

Another Homerun Construction & Design proposal package coming together tonight.

Honestly, some days it still amazes me that I get to build and design spaces like this for people. Taking an empty backyard and turning it into something that feels intentional, welcoming, and lived in never gets old.

Starting to really love the direction these renderings and outdoor-living concepts are heading.

Progress continuing on this custom covered entry redevelopment here in Southwest Colorado.

What started as a small existing entry platform is being transformed into a fully rebuilt covered structure designed to feel like it was always meant to be part of the home.

One of our favorite parts of projects like this is watching the framing begin to shape the final character of the space. The exposed timber posts, extended rooflines, and overall proportions are already completely changing the feel of the entry.

Still plenty ahead on this one, but we’re excited about where it’s going.

From an underutilized backyard space to a fully transformed outdoor living environment.

This project was designed and built using a waterproof elevated deck system paired with Tanzite stone decking to create a clean, modern outdoor space built for both durability and everyday living.

One of our favorite parts of this transformation was the process itself — from the structural framing and waterproofing integration to the finished architectural edge detailing and final stone-deck surface.

Outdoor spaces should feel intentional.
Not like an afterthought attached to the back of a home.

What a way to start the New Year. WOW!!!

I honestly don’t even know how to explain the shock and gratitude I’m feeling right now. Homerun Construction & Design has been selected to be featured in Deck Specialist Magazine.

It all started with a phone call from an unknown number. I almost never answer those—but for some reason, I did. On the other end was a representative from Deck Specialist Magazine, asking if they could feature one of our deck projects that we had posted online.

At the time, RayDean Michelle and I were in the truck on our way home from another big job, and I honestly thought it might be a joke or spam. The project they were calling about was a post we shared through the Deck Building Professionals page for professional deck builders.

A huge part of this honor goes to RayDean Michelle, who encouraged us to just try. “What’s the worst that could happen?” she said. Her vision and collaboration through the design of the process really made it come together.

After the call, I received an email from Sara Graves, who we’d also like to sincerely thank. We shared the story behind the project and sent over additional photos. After a few emails back and forth, it finally started to feel real.

This all began on November 3rd, 2025—and today, it’s official.

We’re incredibly grateful, humbled, and excited to share this moment with all of you. Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way.
