Completed this deck featuring TimberTech composite railing with stainless steel cable infill. We topped the drink rail with Wolf Ashland decking to perfectly match the deck surface, then finished it off with LED lighted post caps. Can’t wait to see this one lit up at night.

Wrapped up this front porch with Intex Liberty railing and custom radius stairs. Curved sections always take a little extra planning, but the finished look is worth it.

Some jobs just stand out. This waterfront home has an incredible layout, beautiful views, and the Intex Dartmouth railing was the perfect finishing touch. Grateful for the opportunity to bring this one to life.

Intex Dartmouth rails with mahogany wood tops tucked nicely into NuCedar on this newly built Beach Haven home.

📍Beach Haven upgrade done right.

Full stair rebuild + new modern aluminum horizontal railing system.

Replaced the failing/rotted stairs from the ground up for proper structure, then finished it with a clean, low-maintenance system built for coastal conditions.

This isn’t just a visual upgrade—it’s longevity, safety, and a better layout that actually holds up on LBI.

Glass railing is one of the most popular choices for decks—especially on LBI where the view is everything.

What matters just as much, though, is how that glass actually performs once it’s installed.

There are two common approaches: slatted glass and full panels.

Slats keep the space more open. Air moves through the railing, and your eye naturally passes between each section.

Full panels create a different effect. They reduce wind and give you a clean, uninterrupted view, making the deck feel more protected and defined.

Neither option is right or wrong—it comes down to how you want the space to feel and function day to day.

That’s where the real difference shows up.

Beautifully finished entrance to this front porch with an Intex rail and solid mahogany wood tops.

One thing homeowners often ask about is the maintenance of real wood outdoors. Mahogany is a dense hardwood that performs very well outside, which is why it’s commonly used for porch rail tops like this.

If you want to keep the rich reddish color, the wood should be sealed (top, bottom, cut ends) before installation and given a light coat of hardwood oil about once a year.

If it’s left alone, mahogany won’t typically rot — it simply weathers over time and develops a natural silver-gray patina from sun exposure, which many coastal homes actually embrace.

With all the newer “maintenance-free” materials on the market today — AZEK, composite, vinyl — it’s interesting to see that real wood tops still remain very popular. Even with the required upkeep, many homeowners still choose them because the natural warmth and character of real hardwood is hard to replicate with manufactured materials.

Aluminum railing continues gaining momentum on LBI.

Homeowners are prioritizing long-term durability, minimal maintenance, and cleaner sight lines — especially in coastal environments.

A big factor: many aluminum top rail profiles meet ADA graspability requirements, reducing the need for a secondary handrail.

Smart design. Built for shore conditions.
