Easy Buffer Exchange and Desalting

Along with sample concentration, µPulse® v3 - TFF System enables automatic diafiltration to support efficient buffer exchange and desalting workflows.

Setup is easy with 15 or 50 mL centrifuge tubes located at the front of the system:
➡️One tube holds your sample solution
➡️The other a buffer or any other solution of your choice

The system can be refilled with up to 250 mL of buffer (in 50 mL increments) for high diavolume exchanges.

In large-scale pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic studies, a significant amount of AlphaLISA® reagent can be lost to dead volume.

These studies typically require measuring drug and biomarker concentrations across large numbers of samples, so every milliliter of reagent counts.

This application note shows how automating the AlphaLISA reagent addition steps with the Tempest® reduced reagent dead volume to 5–10 mL, a 6-fold reduction compared with the 30–65 mL of a solenoid-valve-based dispensing instrument, while maintaining assay performance in the automated workflow.

Automated drop setters are commonly used for routine crystallization of soluble proteins, but extending their use to LCP presents unique challenges.

LCP's high viscosity makes it difficult to dispense reproducible drops efficiently. Factors including syringe pressure, tip displacement, drop volume, dispensing speed, and evaporation can all affect drop-setting consistency.
