Heavy Equipment Operator(Gallatin Valley)

If you have grading experience utilizing machinery for a variety of tasks including earthwork, loading vehicles, placing materials, compacting, back filling and grading operations to specified grade safely, then give COLD IRON EXCAVATION, INC. a call.

** Must have at least 2 years’ experience with Excavator, Dozer, Skid Steer, Roller, and Loader.
** Performs routine maintenance of equipment checking fluid levels, maintaining tire pressure and changing implements and attachments.
** Position may require long hours as necessary to meet deadlines. Must be flexible as schedules can change rapidly, able and willing to work in all types of inclement weather, long hours and weekends as necessary based on deadlines and storm systems.
**Must be able to work independently and be a team player, create a positive environment and have good communication skills. Be able to operate within established procedures and practices associated with a specific job or task, take and follow directions as given with detail.
** Position does require manual labor, some hand digging and the ability to lift 75 lbs.

COLD IRON EXCAVATION is looking for an experienced and competent grading construction Supervisor/Operator. We need a strong leader to supervise and coordinate daily activities of workers.
Individual must be highly motivated with the ability to meet production deadlines while maintaining safety at all times. Most of our work is in the Gallatin Valley.

Responsibilities:

~The Supervisor/Operator will be a working supervisor for up to a 5 person crew.
~Coordinate tasks and prioritize earthwork with excavator, skid steer, loader, roller, etc. while leading crew.
~Ability to lay pipe, underground utilities, grading, cuts, and fills.
~Perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor at excavation site.
~Expect the Supervisor/Operator to lead by example and to get down in the ditch and educate the team on how to perform the task at hand.
~The Supervisor/Operator will ensure that all tools and equipment are properly stored, put away, and locked at the end of the work day.

Qualifications:

~At least 3 years of excavating experience is required.
~Must have a positive attitude and be ready to work and punctual.
~Have a Valid driver’s license and insurance. Valid CDL is not required but preferred.
~Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
~Ability to work long hours, including weekends as necessary depending on weather conditions.
~Be able to work in inclement weather.
