Look at that view. Who wouldn't want to wake up to that every morning.

That's exactly what I kept in mind building this one. A view like that is wasted if the house doesn't let you actually see it, so we're talking floor to ceiling glass, sliding walls that open the whole back of the house, and a layout where the kitchen, living room, and staircase all face the water instead of fighting each other for it.

It's a good reminder that a custom home build isn't just about the finishes inside. Sometimes the biggest decision is figuring out how to let the site do the talking.

I've said this for 30 years: a custom home isn't built by one person. It's built by a team.

I've worked with and for years now, and honestly, that's what makes the whole process work. When everyone's at the table early, talking through the details together, things just go smoother. Nobody's guessing. Nobody's scrambling. It's just good people who know how to work with each other, doing what they do best.

Most people know me for custom homes. What they don't always see is the commercial side of my work.

This clubhouse was built the same way I approach every project: with the same attention to detail and the same standard I've held for over 30 years in Greater Houston. A commercial build carries different demands than a custom home, but the process still comes down to planning it right and building it once.

I'm bringing you inside one I get to be especially proud of.

This custom home was part of the 2026 Houston Modern Home Tour. Getting selected for something like that isn't just about how a house looks in photos. It means the design, the finishes, and the way the whole thing was put together held up to a room full of people who know exactly what they're looking at, including other builders and designers who could spot a shortcut from across the room.

I could tell you why I love what I do. But honestly, it means more coming from the people I’ve built for and worked with.

These are a few of the reviews I keep coming back to, not because I need the reminder, but because they say something I try to live up to on every single project. Clear communication. Real partnership. A process that feels steady instead of stressful.

Thirty years into this, I still read every single one of these. I remember the walkthrough, the tough decision we worked through together, or the moment a client saw their home finished for the first time. That part never gets old for me.

Some of these clients I’ve built one home for. Others I’m on house number two or three with. A few have become the kind of relationships that last well past the final walkthrough. Either way, the thread is the same. I show up, I stay involved, and I build something they’re proud to call home.

A Welsh dresser hutch does two jobs at once, and it's one of those details you don't notice until someone points it out.

Open shelves on top put the dishes, serving pieces, and collected pottery on display, so the everyday stuff nobody wants out in the open stays out of sight. Closed cabinet doors underneath handle that part. One piece, two purposes. No separate cabinet, no separate shelving unit crowding the room. It's a simple layout, but it solves a problem most kitchens and dining spaces run into: where do you put the pretty stuff versus the practical stuff.

This home was featured in Architectural Digest, and small details like this hutch are a big part of why.

Picture this exact stage of construction, the one nobody photographs, and having someone standing on it who's done this for over thirty years but still checks every detail like it's his first.

That's what three decades actually buys you. I know where problems usually hide before the walls go up. I know which trade partners show up and do it right the first time, and which ones only sound good in a bid. I know when a measurement that looks fine on paper is going to cause a headache in six months if nobody catches it now. None of that shows up in a photo of studs and wiring, but it's exactly what's happening behind a scene like this one, on every single build.

Forever homes don't get built in the finished photos. They get built in moments that look just like this, when almost nobody is paying attention except the person who's supposed to be.

Watching people walk through a house you built, for the first time. Nothing else feels quite like it.

This one made it onto the 2026 Houston Modern Home Tour, and standing back while people who actually know the work walked through it hit differently than any photo shoot does. You hear the reactions in real time. Someone stops on the stair landing. Someone else notices the ceiling height before they even clear the entry. That's the kind of feedback that actually means something, coming from people who've seen a hundred houses and know exactly what to look for.

A tour like this is the closest thing to real feedback a builder gets, especially when the room is full of people whose opinion you actually trust.

A house we built almost twenty years ago just made the news again.

We finished this home in Carlton Woods back in 2006, and it turned up recently in a Houston Business Journal roundup of notable July sales. The sale price isn't what caught our attention. It was seeing the same house still standing strong nearly two decades later. Public records list it at 8,767 square feet on 1.78 acres, with a casita, pool and spa, and an outdoor kitchen. Numbers like that only tell part of the story. The real story is in the decisions made with the owner, architect, and designer long before anyone moved in, the ones that never show up in a listing.

Finishes can be updated anytime. Structure, layout, and land decisions can't, so those are the ones we focus on getting right from day one.
