The sounds of the shop is music to our hears. 🪚🎼🎧 We hope you enjoy some of these clips of the work in action as we race to build an electric formula car! Can’t wait to show you all the final product soon!! Details about our public reveal to come!!!

When the “do not enter – high voltage” room becomes the most popular exhibit on campus 🐟⚡️

Welcome to the Electronics Aquarium, featuring rare and exotic species like the Wild Wiring Harness, the Elusive Tractive System, and everyone’s favorite: the Glowing Inverter 👀🔌

No tapping on the glass… it spooks the engineers.

When the Winter Olympics are on live but you’ve got wiring to finish… so naturally we turned the shop into our own qualifying round. 🏎️❄️

Featuring:
🥌 Curling (but it’s a formula wheel and brooms)

🎿 Bobsled (aka three engineers, one rolling chair, zero common sense)
🏒 Hockey (this time tho it’s fighting over the masking tape instead of a puck)
Engineering excellence? Pending.
Olympic spirit? Gold medal

Meet the Manufacturers of V67
Featuring: Andrew Spinello
Welcome to our newest video series, where we spotlight the people behind WWU Racing’s all-electric Formula SAE car.
In each episode, you’ll meet one of our members in the shop as they answer:
👤 Who are you?
🔧 What are you working on?
⚙️ What system does it fall under?
👀 And can you show us what that looks like?
From machining and composites to powertrain, software, and everything in between — these are the hands building the future of V67.
Stay tuned on Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube as we take you behind the scenes, one subsystem at a time.

Throwback Thursday!

WWU FSAE welcomes back with a look back at where it all started. Viking 1, designed and built at the Vehicle Research Institute between 1973 and 1974 was created for the Urban Vehicle Design competition at the General Motors Proving Grounds in Milford, Michigan.

The car featured a propane fuel system and “Extreme Ackerman Steering” allowing it to parallel park in a space only 10” longer than the car itself!

The car won both the maneuverability and parkability awards and finishing 3rd overall behind University of British Columbia and University of Florida.

This goes out to the High Voltage team. Their biggest role on V67 is making the batter pack and ensuring that it is functional, reliable, and doesn’t blow up. Making the battery from scratch is tough, but with collaboration between the HV, LV, BPS, and chassis team all working together to make sure everything goes smoothly, Patrick Pierson our HV system lead and his team will make a successful, safe battery back.

If you are interested in the HV system, reach out to our HV lead Patty at
