We had a great time touring our solar installation at the City of Bend's new Public Works Campus. A big thank you Representative Emerson Levy and Senator Anthony Broadman for joining us!
It was an awesome opportunity to highlight the City of Bend’s commitment to sustainability and the impactful steps being taken to protect our environment. 🌱

Last spring, Luke welcomed Jacob - a Heart of Oregon Corps graduate - to the team at Sunlight Solar and immediately noticed the professionalism he brought to the job. The certifications Jacob earned through Heart of Oregon gave him a strong technical foundation and, coupled with his dedication and work ethic, make him a valued employee.

We love seeing our graduates launch successful careers and show up as trusted members of their teams!

We are happy to have Jacob as part of our Solar Installation Team!

Thank you to Heart of Oregon Corps for the important and impactful work you do for our community🙂

Like many teenagers, Jacob loved spending time with friends - but those choices led him into trouble during high school. A community referral introduced him to Heart of Oregon Corps, and with it, a new direction. He made the most of his two years with the YouthBuild program, which gave him a broad understanding of the workforce and work ethic. Heart of Oregon taught him responsibility and punctuality.

His pre-apprenticeship certification helped him to get hired by Sunlight Solar Bend, Oregon, where he’s worked since spring of 2025.

He also found a sense of belonging and purpose at Heart of Oregon, calling it a place where young people can invest in themselves and their futures in ways they never before knew was possible.

We’re proud of Jacob and the example he sets as a Heart of Oregon graduate and a dedicated employee in our community!
