CONSTRUCTION UPDATE MALACE HOMES
Shevlin West #10
The recent weather has let me spend a ton of time excavating at 62676 NW Ember Place. To fit this 3,228 sq ft panoramic mountain view home, we’re moving about 600 cubic yards of dirt—no small task.
Footers and 8 ft lower walls are poured, steel beams for the living space over the garage are done, and next up is waterproofing with Blue Skin, drainage installation, and soil compaction (thanks to a Petersen Cat attachment).
Once that’s wrapped, we’ll start the boulder wall and prep the upper foundation. This one is challenging—but it’s going to be worth it.

Excavation and foundation will begin on 3/9/2026. Very excited about this Scandinavian design, and the views will also be panoramic from the heigh to the foundation. Home completion is slated for August 2026. Still time to choose your finishes.

We have just completed all rough inspections and installation and are mudding the drywall. So we are 70% of the way through the project’s lifecycle. This incredible 3510 Square foot 4-bedroom mountain modern is Going to have a chef’s kitchen, 2 refrigerators, wine fridge, outdoor kitchen and fire pit. As we begin to insulate and drywall form the month of February, we have located a buyer and the home is now pending. We are very excited this young family has chosen our home to raise their children, make memories, and enjoy their extended family. I thank you. Excited for them to choose their finishes and make this home theirs.

We’ve been working with a couple of different buyers on design ideas for this home, and after some hesitation on both sides, we’ve decided to just go ahead and design it ourselves. Honestly, that’s where we do our best work anyway.
Semi custom has always been our sweet spot. While other west side builders have dropped out of this space, Malace Homes is still committed to giving people real options.
The plan?
4 beds, 4 baths, an office, 3 car garage, and a bonus room that can be anything—storage, gym, theatre… whatever the new owner dreams up.
We’re excited for this one.

We’ve got one more meeting on this home design. If there’s no commitment after that, I’m rolling up my sleeves and designing it myself.
This lot has so much potential—mountain views from multiple angles and a flat area to build on once we shape the site. I’ll be working off a solid civil engineering plan to keep everything smooth.
