Many iron castings require internal passages, holes, or complex cavities that cannot be created by the mold alone. That's where our Core Department comes in.

Cores are specially engineered sand forms that are placed inside the mold before pouring. Once the iron solidifies, the core is removed, leaving behind the precise internal geometry required by the finished casting.

At Benton Foundry, our core-making capabilities include 15 core machines, consisting of Beardsley & Piper Shell, Ga***rd Isocure, and Laempe Isocure equipment, with additional capacity available for future expansion. Our skilled team produces, assembles, cleans, and prepares cores of all sizes to support a wide range of casting requirements.

Benton Foundry recently welcomed volunteers from North Mountain Volunteer Fire Company for a facility tour and emergency preparedness review.

The visit provided firefighters with a firsthand look at our operations, facility layout, and key safety considerations, helping ensure a faster and more effective response should an emergency ever occur. The group also reviewed the dry hydrant located at Benton Foundry’s pond.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and sacrifice made the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy today possible.

Kudos to our Lab for once again earning strong results in the Iron Casting Research Institute’s Round 55 Spectrometer Proficiency Testing.

Benton Foundry’s Lab showed no statistically significant differences in repeatability or reproducibility — confirming outstanding consistency both internally and compared with other labs nationwide.
