Pedal Steel Solar is proud to partner with the Arkansas Monarch Conservation Program pursuant to a memorandum of cooperation signed in November 2022. Through our development process, we will work together to create, enhance and conserve monarch and pollinator habitat at our solar projects in The Natural State.

Our Director of Development, Kyle Lockhause, joined companies and organizations from around the state at this AMCP event to formalize this commitment and learn from a network of people implementing research and conservation initiates across Arkansas.

Organizations include the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism, STATE PARKS AND RECREATION FOUNDATION OF ARKANSAS, Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation, Arkansas Department of Transportation, The Nature Conservancy, U.S. Forest Service, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, and many more.

Clean Energy investments continue to see a significant boost over fossil fuel investments. This will ultimately benefit energy consumers, rural economies through localized tax payments, and transform the energy workforce by creating new high-paying jobs.

"We estimate that around USD 2.8 trillion will be invested in energy in 2023. More than USD 1.7 trillion is going to clean energy, including renewable power, nuclear, grids, storage, low-emission fuels, efficiency improvements and end-use renewables and electrification. The remainder, slightly over USD 1 trillion, is going to unabated fossil fuel supply and power, of which around 15% is to coal and the rest to oil and gas. For every USD 1 spent on fossil fuels, USD 1.7 is now spent on clean energy. Five years ago this ratio was 1:1."

As a member of American Solar Grazing Association, we are proud to see more research in the nexus of energy and land stewardship.
"The study will collect data from solar installation sites co-located with beekeepers and/or grazing herds, as well as conventional, standalone operations for comparison. Lexie Hain, the executive director of the American Solar Grazing Association, said that the researchers are looking for most sites to be grazed."

Sheep and solar farms can exist symbiotically, and the American Solar Grazing Association says that now is the time to convert that relationship into a full-scale industry.

Renewable energy is projected to become the world’s top source of electricity within three years, as demand for electricity is very high - and growing.

According to the International Energy Agency’s Electricity Market Report 2023, approximately 90 per cent of new demand between now and 2025 will be covered by clean energy sources.

This growth in output means that renewables will become the world’s largest electricity source within three years - providing 35 per cent of the world’s electricity and overtaking coal.

"Output by solar alone increased by 26.23% and its share of total U.S. electrical generation year-to-date (YTD) surpassed 5.0%, providing 5.05% through the end of October. For perspective, solar’s YTD share first reached 1.0% in March 2016. Since then, solar’s monthly generation has increased almost six-fold. The trend seems likely to continue — in October 2022 alone, solar’s output was 31.68% greater than a year earlier, a rate of growth that strongly eclipsed that of every other energy source."
