Neighbor got the landlord special. No AC for months, finally presses the issue with them and the cheapest bidder got the job. When the jobs done they left the old unit (indoor and outdoor) sitting outside, broke his laundry door and left window units behind.

Look what I found today! This may not seem like a big deal but this sensing bulb tells your TXV how much to open or close (to send to appropriate amount of refrigerant into the evap coil). If it’s left uninsulated like this, the bulb thinks the pipe is much warmer than it actually is (because attic air is HOT), so it closes more to try to get the coil colder. Now when the system is operating properly and the pipe is ACTUALLY not warm, this will cause the coil to freeze up! Found this on a basic maintenance today and insulated it so our superheat stays ideal and we don’t freeze our coil up! One of the many adjustments we make for free on these maintenances AND something that an experienced eye like Cavanaugh HVAC will catch at your tune up!

Nice little before and after pictures on a tune-up this morning! All this build up inside your outdoor units can cause airflow and electrical issues resulting in failure! One of the many VERY valuable tasks completed on our tune ups!

Hello good people of NWA! Long time no talk! This winter has been interesting to say the least! 70 degrees on Christmas Day, more 70 degree weather around the corner during our usually coldest month of the year and of course a multi-day snow storm that brought in a foot of snow. I also tore my Achilles tendon on Christmas Day! Horray for me lol. But Cavanaugh HVAC is still in business and will be ready to hit it hard this spring and summer! Luckily I had a good enough summer to where I’m surviving off that bit of savings. But I’m currently at 6 weeks, post-rupture, about halfway to being able to walk unassisted and making very good progress so far! So in the next couple of weeks I’ll be advertising a discounted rate for dryer vent cleanings so I can get back to making a living!
