When you turn on a light switch, you probably don’t think about the power plant behind it.

And you definitely don’t see the people working in the cold during a holiday to make sure it keeps running.

We recently created a video from a job where a water leak turned into a much bigger issue at a power facility. Instead of showing a simple “before and after,” we wanted to tell the story behind the work.

What does the industrial economy actually look like?
Why does it matter?
Who are the people who make it go?

This is a glimpse into that world.

It’s not flashy. It’s not glamorous.
But it’s important.

And it’s carried by hardworking, technically skilled people who take pride in doing the job right.

At our annual holiday party, we had the privilege of recognizing Kevin Carlin with BIG’s Core Values Award.

Kevin was also BIG’s first Employee of the Year, and his sustained level of excellence has never wavered. In fact, he’s been nominated for this award multiple years in a row — a testament to the impact he has on his crews, our customers, and our culture.

Last week, the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey hosted its annual Share A Night, where families staying at the House meet Santa and make their Christmas wishes. Thanks to Ken Konopka and his family, the night had an extra touch of magic.

Ken spent countless hours setting up a massive holiday train display — three fully operating train lines running through the RMH movie room — all for the kids to enjoy.

And in true BIG fashion, the display even featured a custom “BIG” caboose, complete with Banks Industrial Group, LLC logos riding proudly around the track.

Ken, your creativity, generosity, and heart for service embody everything we stand for at BIG. Thank you for bringing joy, wonder, and a little bit of holiday magic to families who need it most. ❤️

Just before Thanksgiving, 23 members of the Banks Industrial Group, LLC team — along with their families — spent the morning decorating the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey to make sure the holidays arrive right on time for the incredible families staying there.

It was a powerful reminder that our core values don’t stop at the jobsite. Family First isn’t just a phrase — it’s how we show up for each other and our community.

Grateful for our BIG crew, their families, and the opportunity to support an organization that gives so much to others. ❤️
