Ursa Major is going public!

We’ve entered into a definitive business combination agreement with an Inflection Point Asset Management-led S**C, bringing $350M of committed capital into the business.

Founded in 2015, we’ve spent the last 11 years building the manufacturing process, quality rigor, and discipline required for this industry, then proving those capabilities in test and flight across our portfolio.

Today, Ursa Major officially opened the doors to our new manufacturing facility in Longmont, Colorado.

As our sixth location, the new site expands production capacity for avionics and in-space propulsion systems, with room for more than 125 employees and dedicated manufacturing, clean room, and environmental testing capabilities.

But this expansion is about more than square footage. Moving this work to Longmont opens additional manufacturing capacity at our Berthoud headquarters for liquid engines, vehicle integration, solid rocket motors, and all-up-round assembly, including the HAVOC Missile System.

As CEO Chris Spagnoletti put it: “We’re opening this new facility because the demand is here now.”

That urgency drives how we build at Ursa Major. We’re investing in the people, infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing capacity required to deliver critical capabilities faster and at scale.

The U.S. Navy has awarded Ursa Major a $10M contract to advance the company’s MK 104 design through critical design review and static fire.

The MK 104 is the dual-thrust rocket motor that powers the SM-2 and SM-6, the interceptors central to defending the fleet. And solid rocket motor production has become the biggest chokepoint in building munitions at the rate the warfighter needs.

We’re building the second source that changes that with adaptable, additive-enabled, American-made manufacturing that’s built to surge with demand.

Between these walls at our Additive Manufacturing Center just outside Youngstown, Ohio, production never stops.

Purpose-built to accelerate development and production, this facility gives Ursa Major the ability to rapidly iterate designs, qualify hardware faster, and scale manufacturing to meet growing demand. With machines running 24 hours a day, we’re compressing timelines from design to production while increasing the throughput needed to deliver critical missile systems at speed.

By combining advanced additive manufacturing with a mission-focused workforce, we’re accelerating production, strengthening the defense industrial base, and delivering the speed, scale, and resilience required for today and tomorrow’s missions.

At Eurosatory, Ursa Major and EDGE Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore collaboration on solid rocket motor manufacturing and investment between the two companies in support of our shared defense priorities.
