It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Cunningham, P.E., P.L.S.—our Chief Business & Surveying Advisor, trusted mentor, and one of the guiding forces behind Cadence Aerial.

To the engineering and surveying community, Don was a highly respected Professional Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor, licensed in Texas, Oklahoma, and many other states throughout his distinguished career. His decades of experience, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to doing things the right way left a lasting mark on countless projects, professionals, and clients.

To us, he was so much more.

He was a business partner, trusted advisor, mentor, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, loyal husband, and a man whose faith shaped every aspect of his life. His wisdom extended far beyond engineering and surveying. He taught us that integrity is not something you advertise—it's something you demonstrate every day. He believed that your word mattered, that excellence was worth pursuing, and that relationships were always more important than transactions.

Many of the principles that define Cadence Aerial today were shaped through countless conversations around conference tables, project maps, legal pads, and even napkins covered with sketches and ideas. His fingerprints are on this company in ways that most people will never see.

As we move forward, we do so carrying the lessons he invested in us: serve people well, never compromise your integrity, pursue excellence, and always leave things better than you found them.

While we mourn his passing, we are incredibly grateful for the legacy he leaves behind. His influence will continue to guide our family, our company, and the profession he loved for many years to come.

Thank you, Papa, for believing in us, and showing us what it means to lead with humility, conviction, and faith. We will do our best to honor your legacy in the work we do every day.

Rest easy. We'll take it from here.

Now that’s tight accuracy.

When we talk about LiDAR accuracy, we back it up with numbers.

This screenshot shows absolute accuracy—the difference between a known checkpoint on the ground and where our LiDAR data says that point is. In this case? We’re talking hundredths or even thousandths of an inch, or within the width of a marble...
We corrected the one GCP outlier with a second and third satellite observation.
