Seeing stories like this is frustrating, but unfortunately, we have seen it firsthand with customers and have also experienced it ourselves while having a home warranty.

Home warranties can sound helpful, but in our experience, they often do not provide the peace of mind homeowners expect when something major breaks.

We have seen customers left waiting, denied coverage, or stuck with a much larger out-of-pocket expense than they were prepared for.

Red Rock Mechanical works with several home warranty companies, but we do not control what they approve, deny, or how long they take. Our job is to diagnose honestly, provide the needed information, and do the work correctly.

Before relying on a home warranty in an emergency, make sure you understand what it actually covers.

Shout out to Lennox for doing the right thing and lowering some of their surcharges after reviewing global market conditions.

This is exactly how pricing works in our industry. Equipment prices, parts, metals, tariffs, refrigerant changes, fuel, and supplier costs all affect what contractors are charged, which then affects what customers are charged.

We don’t control those increases, but we do believe in being honest about them. And when manufacturers lower costs, that deserves to be recognized too.

Red Rock Mechanical will always do our best to stay fair, transparent, and upfront with our customers.

We just received notice from one of our suppliers that HVAC equipment prices are expected to increase by up to 7% at the end of June.

We want to be upfront with our customers. We do not want to charge anyone more, but when our cost on equipment and materials goes up, our prices have to reflect that too. On top of that, suppliers are also charging us credit card processing fees on purchases, which can add another 3%.

That is the reality in every industry right now.

We are not sharing this to pressure anyone. We are sharing it because we would rather be honest and inform you ahead of time than have anyone feel surprised later.

These are some of the reasons suppliers gave for the increase:

• Section 232 tariffs hit 50% on steel, aluminum, and copper in April and are now being charged on the full value of equipment
• Copper is up about 37% year over year, with a record high this month
• Aluminum is up about 45%, the highest since 2022
• The R-410A to A2L refrigerant switch added roughly 8% to 12% to equipment cost
• Current fuel costs are up around 22% year over year

If your system has been struggling, not cooling like it should, making noise, or you know a repair or replacement may be coming soon, now is a good time to get on the schedule before pricing changes and before the summer rush gets even busier.

Thank you for continuing to trust and support our family business.

Oklahoma summer is no joke, and your A/C is about to be working hard.

A few simple things can help your system keep up better:

Change your filter regularly
Keep doors and windows closed while the A/C is running
Keep grass, leaves and debris away from the outdoor unit
Make sure your coils are clean
Do not ignore strange noises, weak airflow or your system running nonstop

A clean, maintained system can make a big difference in comfort, efficiency and preventing bigger repairs when the heat really hits.

Red Rock Mechanical is here to help keep your home cool and ready for the Oklahoma summer.

We love seeing skilled trades getting the attention they deserve.

College is a great path for some, but it is not the only path to a successful future. HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration and other trades are real careers with real demand, real skill and real opportunity.

At Red Rock Mechanical, we believe in supporting the next generation of tradesmen and tradeswomen. We enjoy working with students because hands-on learning matters. These students are learning skills that our communities will always need.

The trades are not “less than.” They are essential.

We are proud to be part of an industry that keeps homes safe, businesses running and families comfortable. The future of the trades is important, and we are excited to see more young people taking interest in this work.

We are always here if you need us.

More high school graduates are taking a closer look at careers in the skilled trades instead of the traditional four-year college route.

Industry leaders say demand remains strong for HVAC, plumbing and electrical workers, especially as many experienced tradespeople near retirement.

This is such a good example of why our job is so important.

We can’t control the air outside. Oklahoma wind, dust, pollen, smoke, and weather all do what they want. But thankfully, with the right knowledge, equipment, and skill, we can help make the air inside your home or business cleaner, healthier, and more comfortable.

Your HVAC system is not just about heating and cooling. It plays a huge role in the air you breathe every day.

If you have been thinking about better filters, indoor air quality options, UV lights, maintenance, or just making sure your system is doing what it should, this is your reminder.

Then call us here at Red Rock Mechanical and let’s talk about how we can help you breathe better inside.
