Congrats Tom!!

Cedar swamp, blow downs, and creek crossing often bring us back to nightmares while tracking bear but today Willow lead us straight to Tom's buck! To say Tom was impressed would be an understatement but he sure was glad to have us out. So fortunate to meet some great people and Tom is no exception.

Unfortunately the coyotes? bear? Or maybe bobcats beat us to it but Tom was still thrilled to have his buck.

*note, in the earlier post if you zoom in real close above Willows head you can see the deer laying near the blown down tree.

It's a twofer!

Incredibly happy to help Mike with the recovery of his 2 bucks! He had a morning to remember with bucks running all over, coming in to rattling and making scrapes.

His first shot, buck on the right, was hard quartering to at 7 yards. Complete pass through but some stomach look on the arrow. Second buck, on the left, was about 32 yards and shot looked great but minimal blood within the 20 yards of him looking. With having a heck of a morning and playing it safe, he had us come out to assist.

While walking to his hunting spot/ treestand Scout began getting very birdy like and immediately sniffed out the buck laying in the ferns. Well that was easy, onto the next. Once at the stomach arrow Scout was set and off he went. Wasn't long and we had the second.

Congrats to Mike on two great bucks and thanks for having us out!

We often show the highs of our tracks, the bucks we find, the deer we recover, all the good things....

But what about the days that just plain suck! The days that we don't recover deer, the days that we grind, struggle and just plain don't have anything to show.

Today was one of those days....Willow fought hard but the reality was the conditions weren't ideal. 2 of the 3 tracks were 24 hours plus old and at least 1 I'll bet is dead but we didn't find it.

This isn't a poor me, poor us tale, this is the truth. Sometimes we aren't the heros, but we sure as hell gave it our all. Willow was a trooper. She didn't have big brother today so she was solo.

This is the reality of tracking. Roughly 50% to 55% of the time, we are not going to find a deer. Doesnt make us hate not finding it anymore than the guy hoping to tailgate his buck.

Will soak our wounds, regroup for the night, put away the day and start fresh tomorrow. Isn't gonna stop us, just gonna make us work that much harder for the next one!!

As you can see, someone is ready for a nap

WHEN IN DOUBT, BACK OUT!!

Dan had shot this buck 18 hrs before we began to track him. Shot was a touch back and low. Arrow was blood soaked, and he wanted to give the deer time to expire.

When Scout and I showed up he went straight to work. Windy conditions played a small part in some line resets but ultimately we found the buck at around 700 yards bedded up and still alive!! This buck was hit low liver and stomach. Dan made the right call, time was what this deer needed. Congrats bud on a great buck!

It's important we set the proper amount of time to let these deer expire. Now that we're reaching the pre-rut and rut time along with colder temperatures, these deer need ample.

Thanks Bob for letting us assist you, Scout was happy to tailgate your buck!

With little blood, a short trail and nothing else Bob backed out and gave us a call via another tracker. All indications pointed towards a further back shot. We arrived about 18 hrs after the shot and Scout quickly went to work. Roughly 428 yards in, we found the buck expired and hiding in the tall grass. No visible blood the last 325 yards.

Scout was so impressed with himself, he figured he would ride sh***un on the way home!

Thanks Bob and congrats on your buck!

Showing off for the ladies! 👀 ❤️ 😉

Huge congrats to Payton and her awesome 7pt buck!! This young lady played it safe, waited the perfect amount of time, and was patient enough to let Scout show her to her buck!

Thanks young lady and high five on your great deer!

Congrats to Shane on a great buck!!

He ran out of blood and called in Scout for the assist. Buck was shot at 7 yards, step angle and no arrow pass thru. Shane ran out of blood around 125 yards and Scout found his last bed at 225 yards. Super happy with how he is progressing this season!!

Stay tuned, more to come!

INFORMATION ANNOUNCEMENT:

I will not tolerate, bashing or degrading of shot placements. We are a tracking service, we help those who had a less than ideal shot. If you can't keep your own opinions to yourself and feel the need to spout out something ridiculous regarding another hunters "shot placement", you will be immediately banned from the page. No questions asked, your gone.

As a hunter, we have all had that less than ideal scenario, if you haven't, you haven't hunted long enough or your lying. In the end, a successful recovery is our goal. We want hunters to be excited for the animal they harvest. I'm tired of the the social media critics!

That is all!

It's such a pleasure tracking for someone again. Dennis first had Willow and I out back in 2022 to find his buck!

Dennis had taken a shot at a deer this time and he found zero and I mean zero signs of even hitting it. He climbed down, inspected the ground, no blood, no arrow, no hair, absolutely nothing. He spent time with a friend scouring the area, nothing. He looked many of yards in the direction the deer took off, nothing. That when Willow came in and brightened his day.

When we arrived he lead us to the shot site, gave us the general idea of his account of the deers heading and off we went. Willow wasted not a drop of time knowing the path of the buck and began sorting him out. She quickly had us lined out and covering ground. In a matter of minutes we had confirmed blood at about 200 yards knowing that Dennis had actually hit the buck. With Willow hot on it, we followed. She covered about 550 yards in 18 minutes and had Dennis holding antlers!

Always appreciate those who have trusted in us in the past, and continue to utilize us when the track gets difficult.

Congrats to Dennis on a great public land buck!
