Second Air Force Second Air Force builds the Airmen we need for America's Air Force. 2nd Air Force Headquarters is located at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi.

To carry out the 2nd Air Force mission, 2nd Air Force manages all operational aspects of nearly 2,700 active training courses taught to approximately 150,000 students annually in technical training, basic military training, initial skills training, advanced technical training and distance learning courses. Training operations across 2nd Air Force range from intelligence to computer operations to s

pace and missile operations and maintenance. Courses are primarily taught at five resident training wings - the 81st Training Wing, Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi; the 17th Training Wing, Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas; the 37th Training Wing, JBSA-Lackland, Texas; the 82nd Training Wing, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas; and the Special Warfare Training Wing; as well as network of 92 field training units around the world. 2nd Air Force also oversees all United States Air Force Airmen throughout the 602nd Training Group (Provisional) Joint Expeditionary Tasking/Individual Augmentee training pipeline at Army training sites across the country and provides a 24-hour, 7-day operations center for pre-and post-deployment support.

On this solemn day, we pause to remember the lives forever changed on Dec. 7, 1941, a day that stands as a powerful testament to sacrifice and resilience.

More than 2,400 Americans lost their lives in the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, including 2,008 sailors, 218 Army personnel, 109 Marines, and 68 civilians. The devastating assault marked a turning point in history and forever shaped the future of our nation.

We pause in respect and gratitude, honoring the memory of those who gave everything on that fateful day.
