Today’s adventures involved us going to Cincinnatus School to help mechanical contractors successfully install these 11 Air handling unit pieces!

Out of the 11 pieces, the heaviest weighed 1,700 lbs. the largest in size unit we had to lay on its side and roll through the louvre opening and then stand back up inside the penthouse. Abbey Services handled the crane service, signaling, and all the cribbing/rigging from the outside of the building, once the unit entered through the hole into the building the mechanical contractor than took charge of getting the pieces where they needed to be!

Was a great day, and a fun one!

Small crane-small maneuvers! Although our big crane may take the spotlight and attention most the time; theirs no doubt the 45 ton crane is our work horse of the company! This crane gets in some weird positions and spots, but always is a crane our customers can depend on to get a complex job done easy!

This was yesterday in Binghamton setting an RTU that was on the ground and inside a fence.

Yesterday we traveled to the Town of Lansings’ new highway garage and loaded a generator that was set aside until the concrete pad was built, moved it 700’ where we re-set the crane back up and set the generator in its final place! With our truck and drop deck trailer we were able to ensure this customer a safe and convenient job start to finish!

A job like this wasn’t planned overnight, it took countless hours of engineering, pre-planning, coordination, as well as required top notch resources!

This 86,000 lbs. two section clam shell style box culvert was finished being set today at 10 am in Ithaca NY. Last Thursday we mobilized the crane and all 5 loads of counterweight on-site, set up and ready to go for Friday morning where we would set the first 12 pieces of the bottom half of the culvert. This morning we set the top half of the culvert (another 12 pieces) for a total of 24 individual pieces of precast.

Our 300 ton crane dressed with the full 194,000 lbs. of counterweight, picked the first 38’ long, 43,000 lbs. precast piece of the project and then proceeded to reach a total of 80’ to set it in its place. Making the first piece also the furthest piece of the job.

This is the largest precast box culvert Jefferson Concrete Corp. has ever produced, and we are honored to have set it.

This job was a big one to say the least, but anything is possible when you’re working with outstanding crews! Great job everyone!

This morning at the Marathon school bus garage we set this 21,000 lbs. precast concrete fuel separator tank provided by our friends at Zeiser Precast!

Although our 45 ton crane typically performs light lifts, this crane is still very versatile and has strong lifting capacities making jobs like this simple and more cost effective on the customer!
