For instance, a child’s 'blank stares' might be mistaken for daydreaming or inattention, but these could actually be absence seizures. At Eysz, we have developed an innovative tool - the Eysz HV Recorder - to help clinicians identify absence seizures. Let’s work together to improve awareness and understanding!

🎉 Exciting milestone alert! We’re thrilled to announce that the ACER Study is now enrolling at all three sites: Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, CHOC, and Children’s Hospital Colorado. This brings us one step closer to understanding the link between epilepsy and eye movement. 👁️💡

What makes this even more special? We’ve received a Phase II SBIR grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF). For those unfamiliar, this highly competitive grant supports innovative research that has the potential to make a real-world impact. Receiving this award is not only a testament to the importance of our study but also a huge boost in helping us drive this research forward.

Staring spells aren’t as simple as they may seem. Both Childhood Absence Epilepsy (CAE) and ADHD present staring episodes, making diagnosis a challenge.

➡️ 80% of children with ADHD experience staring, while 94% of children with CAE report similar episodes.
🔗 With 50% of children with CAE also having ADHD, it becomes crucial to get an accurate diagnosis.
