Some of our best moments don't come with perfect footage, just real work getting done by crews who know what they're doing.

Last month, our crew wrapped work on a substation project for a utility partner in Georgia. From the first day on site through energization, it's the same team seeing it all the way through. A build like this doesn't come together without people who take every phase of it seriously.

This month, our apprenticeship program officially launches, bringing a new generation of linemen and technicians into the trade with real training and a real path forward.

That's what growth looks like at Gridco. Not just more work, but more people coming up through the ranks the right way, learning the trade from people who've been doing it for years.

To everyone starting out this month: this trade will challenge you, push you and reward you in ways most jobs never will. We're glad you chose to start that journey with us.

Another month in the books, and our teams covered a lot of ground.

New service lines taking shape. Crews working through fiber, transmission, and substation projects across multiple states. Conferences from North Carolina to Tennessee. A growing list of utility partners trusting us with the work that keeps their systems running.

Plenty happened this month that didn't make it into a post, but it's a good reminder of what it all adds up to: communities with power they can count on.

We're hiring a Staff Accountant to join that team!

Reporting to the Accounting Manager and working closely with the Controller and the broader accounting group, this role owns key pieces of the monthly close, general ledger accuracy and account reconciliations, with hands-on exposure to job cost and WIP accounting in a construction environment.

It's a strong seat for someone who wants to build real expertise in project accounting and grow alongside leaders who invest in developing their team.

Six months in, and Chase O'Neal is terminating transmission and distribution lines out in Fairhope, Alabama.

Chase found Gridco through his lineman school in Rockmart, Georgia, saw the apprenticeship posting on Facebook, made a phone call, and was working two days later.

When we asked why he works safe every day, he kept it simple.
"I'm working safe for my family and my fiancée. Safety is about watching over each other and watching yourself. Just as much as you watch the next person."

And on what makes Gridco different:
"The company truly cares about its employees and you can see that in the way they treat us. They've been very good to me personally and all the other stories I've heard from my coworkers. I just love working for a company that takes care of their people."

Glad you're here, Chase. Keep doing what you're doing.

Economic development is picking up across the Andalusia region, and the infrastructure has to be ready to meet it.

Our crews are on the ground supporting critical system upgrades and expanded infrastructure for the Utilities Board, built to handle the growth already headed their way, not just what the system needs right now.

This is the kind of work that doesn't always get a lot of attention, but it matters. The businesses moving in, the families putting down roots, the community growing into what it's becoming. None of that works without reliable infrastructure behind it.

When the work is done right, the community feels it for years. That's what our crews are out there building toward.

Last month, when severe weather hit hard across the Midwest and Northeast over the Fourth of July, our crews were already moving.

Storm response across multiple utility partners in the Midwest and Northeast. Getting on the ground fast, working alongside utility teams, and helping restore power for communities that needed it back.

Choosing to step up during a holiday weekend to make sure other families had their lights back on says a lot about the kind of people wearing this company's name.
We don't take that for granted, and we're proud of every crew member who answered the call.

We're excited to welcome Steven Hataway to Gridco as our new Principal Protection and Control Engineer!

Steven brings more than 34 years of electric utility experience, nearly all of it in Protection and Control. His career began in a university high voltage laboratory before he moved into the field, testing relays and troubleshooting equipment across distribution, transmission, and generation stations.

For 22 years, he led protective relay settings work, developing settings across every voltage class and mentoring the next generation of engineers. His last role focused on design, guiding projects from early planning through final engineering.

Steven's depth in relay settings and design adds another layer of technical judgment to our Engineering team as Gridco takes on more complex substation and transmission work. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and stays active with national standards and reliability organizations across the industry.

While no relation to our own Greg Hataway, we're thrilled to have another "Hataway" on the team. Welcome aboard, Steven!

Every distribution project starts with a number, and getting that number right takes someone who understands the work inside and out.

We're growing our estimating team and looking for a Distribution Estimator to build the pricing behind our overhead and underground distribution projects: new construction, distribution system upgrades, and storm hardening programs.

This is the role that sets the foundation before a single crew hits the field.

Line trucks, bucket trucks, trailers, specialized equipment. None of it gets a crew to the job if it's not running right.

We're hiring a Fleet Mechanic to keep our fleet ready to roll, day or night, storm or clear skies. This role covers everything from preventive maintenance to hydraulic systems and heavy duty repair on the vehicles our crews count on every day.

If you know diesel engines and utility equipment and you care about getting it right the first time, we want to talk.
