Not all mini-split installations are created equal.

A mini-split may look like a simple piece of equipment… but the **real difference is in the installation & service behind it**.

We’ve seen too many DIY and MRCOOL-style installs with:

* Extra line set coiled outside causing oil pooling
* Exposed piping and wiring
* Messy, unfinished appearance
* Poor setup for harsh winter conditions
* Future service headaches / No parts availability / No service available / No installation available. All these things turn into NO warranty.

A professionally installed Lennox or Bosch mini-split from Bismarck Heating & Air is designed to give you:

* Clean fitted line-hide to conceal line set
* Proper pad or stand placement to rise above the elements
* Service Access / All parts in stock and 24/7 service
* A cleaner, more finished look
* Installation built for **North Dakota weather**
* 5-year LABOR warranty / 10-year PARTS warranty

**Upfront savings can turn into expensive repairs later.**

When it comes to your comfort, your home, and your investment, doing it right the first time matters.

**The difference isn’t just the equipment — it’s the installation & service behind it.**

Thinking about adding a mini-split to your home, garage, shop, or addition?

Is TODAY the day you have that high efficiency furnace and air conditioner installed?? You might not have a choice...

The U.S. is unlocking emergency backup power across 17 states as extreme heat pushes the electric grid toward its limits.

With millions of air conditioners running at the same time, electricity demand has surged, increasing the risk of shortages during peak hours. To strengthen grid reliability, the U.S. Department of Energy has issued an emergency order allowing the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) to bring additional power plants and backup generators online whenever needed.

The temporary order, which remains in effect through August 3, gives grid operators greater flexibility to respond if high demand, power plant outages, weak wind generation, or limited electricity imports threaten the balance between supply and demand.

The Southwest Power Pool oversees the flow of electricity across all or parts of 17 states, serving around 20 million people over an area of roughly 732,000 square miles.

This does not mean widespread blackouts are already happening. Instead, the order is a precaution designed to reduce the likelihood of controlled outages during periods of exceptional stress on the grid.

The region recently experienced its highest Energy Emergency Alert level before conditions stabilised, highlighting how quickly extreme weather can test the power system.

The main driver is the ongoing heat wave. As temperatures climb, cooling demand rises sharply while extreme heat can also reduce the efficiency of power plants and transmission equipment. Heat index values above 105°F (40.6°C), with some Gulf Coast locations approaching 115°F (46.1°C), have added further pressure.

According to the Department of Energy, more than 35 gigawatts of backup generation capacity remain available nationwide. The emergency order allows operators to use part of that reserve before electricity shortages develop into rolling blackouts.

An unusual weather pattern called an omega block is locking extreme heat and powerful storms across the United States.

Named for its resemblance to the Greek letter Ω, an omega block forms when a strong ridge of high pressure becomes trapped between two low-pressure troughs. This setup slows the jet stream, preventing weather systems from moving normally.

The result is prolonged, dangerous conditions.

Across the central and southern U.S., temperatures are soaring into the upper 90s and low 100s, with parts of the Desert Southwest expected to reach 115°F to 120°F. Combined with high humidity, heat index values above 105°F could make outdoor conditions especially hazardous.

At the same time, storm systems circulating around the edges of the block are bringing repeated rounds of severe weather to the Midwest, Great Lakes, Northeast and parts of the Southwest. These storms may produce damaging winds, large hail, torrential rain and flash flooding.

Warm overnight temperatures are adding to the danger by giving little relief after scorching daytime heat, increasing health risks for vulnerable populations.

In the Southwest, seasonal monsoon moisture continues to fuel daily thunderstorms capable of triggering sudden floods, particularly near burn scars, steep terrain and urban areas.

Because omega blocks can remain in place for days or even weeks, they often extend both heat waves and storm outbreaks, making their impacts more severe and longer-lasting.

This weather pattern doesn't create every extreme event on its own, but it plays a major role in keeping them going long after they would normally fade.

Well, all I can say is what a day!!

Emergency service calls started at 3:23 AM and have gone constant ever since… with no end in sight.

We called the guys in today to get some customers some very needed emergency air-conditioning installed over the weekend.

And I had to call in the big guns, Chris and I boarded the Presidential train from Burlington Northern Santa Fe, though we were able to diagnose the problem fairly quickly, (I sure see a lot of his Grandpa in him!) the repair part needed is only found in Seattle Washington and will have to wait until Tuesday.

All in all, it’s been one fun day.

At about 1 AM or 2 AM we will all be able to go to sleep for a few hours before we start over tomorrow. Apparently tomorrow’s forecast is 108°.

Oh joy! 😊😆🤣🤠
