We’re so proud of this team! While others were on summer break, this team began work last June and stayed dedicated the entire season. Their determination and perseverance paid off in a major way. Congratulations, Microsoft Support!

🤖🏆 Congratulations to four members of the BMS Robotics team, “Microsoft Support,” who were honored today with an official citation from the Oklahoma House of Representatives for their dedication, commitment, and academic excellence!

These students recently placed Top 5 in the WORLD at the 2026 VEX Robotics World Championship, competing against more than 420 teams from 55 countries — a first for any team from Oklahoma!

Their achievement was recognized by Representative Chris Banning on behalf of the Oklahoma State Legislature.

Check out Bixby Central Elementary students competing in the first ever VEX GO competition!

3rd grade students have been working to build and program their very first robot - all while learning problem solving, computational thinking, and debugging. This hands on learning opportunity at such a young age is part of our commitment to bring 21st century skills to our classrooms in Bixby Public Schools.

After a successful pilot with two classes, we look forward to bringing this opportunity to more classrooms next year. Thank you Mrs. Emberton and Mrs. Lane for being willing to “Try Again. Fail Again. Fail Better!”

Another huge thank you to our high school students who served as referees and mentors. Your insight and expertise was invaluable in helping these students navigate their first ever competition.

What an honor for our students to be recognized by the State Department of Education! We are incredibly proud of their hard work and all that Ms. Dillenbeck has done to help them achieve this milestone.

Bixby Public Schools’ robotics team has earned a place among the global elite, finishing in the top five at the VEX World Championship, competing against more than 420 teams from over 55 countries. Even more impressive, they advanced to the Grand Finals in the “Dome,” the highest level of competition .

What started just four years ago with a small group of students and borrowed equipment has grown into Oklahoma’s largest robotics program, driven by determination, community support, and a belief in student potential. The VEX World Championship is the largest robotics competition in the world, showcasing top student talent in engineering, coding, and problem solving.

Headlines may say Oklahoma ranks 50th in the nation for education, but here in Bixby, we’re proving to an international audience that we’re so much more than headlines. After today, our students successfully competed and ranked in the top 5 in THE WORLD. 🌍 The pride we have in our students is hard to put into words. These students have poured their heart and soul into robotics this past year and that hard work paid off.

This didn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of relentless effort from our students, incredible support from coaches and families, and a community that believes in investing in STEM opportunities that prepare kids for the future.

We couldn’t be more proud of what these students have accomplished and we’re just getting started. 🤖

One of our favorite traditions is to gift a “big head” to every child who earned a spot in the VEX World Championship for their family to use to cheer them to success 🎉

This year we also included Michelle Longsinger, Head Referee and Dan Matz, CEO of Robotics Education & Competition Foundation! Thank you for being such great sports and taking the time to snap a picture with our kids! ❤️💙
