⚡ NEW INSTALL: We just turned this homeowner's existing grid-tied solar into a full whole-home backup system — without touching a single panel.

Here's what was happening before: they had a perfectly good solar array on the roof, but the moment the grid went down, every bit of it shut off. That's how grid-tied systems work by default. If there's no grid signal, there's no solar power.

We fixed that.

By installing the EG4 GridBOSS and AC coupling their existing solar inverter directly into it, that array now keeps running during an outage — charging the batteries and powering the home at the same time.

This customer already had grid-tied solar but had zero backup when the grid went down — that changes today. We retrofitted his existing system with an EG4 GridBOSS, FlexBOSS 21 inverter, and two Indoor WallMount batteries for whole-home backup, and tied in his portable generator as a secondary charging source for extended outages. I just want to take a moment to publicly thank my crew for an absolutely incredible week of work. They were out of town all week on a solar pergola installation — EG4 FlexBoss21, GridBoss, and two indoor WallMount batteries — and these guys showed up every single day through what I believe was one of the hottest weeks on record for May. Long days, overtime hours, working in brutal heat far from home, and they never once complained. They just got it done, and they did it right.
