So You probably heard; it’s going to be hot.

Your A/C may not keep up even if it is working well. Most systems in this region are designed for 72 degrees indoor at 88 degrees outside. Lower the first number or raise the second and it may be asking too much. Going down a couple degrees at night and up a couple degrees in the afternoon could help. A steady 76 is way better than causing the A/C to fail trying for 70.
Check or change your filter now.
Close your blinds.
If the A/C doesn’t catch up, or something is visibly wrong, don’t panic. Shut it down and call for service. Be safe and stay cool!

Skip the setback. Most furnaces in this area are designed for -8° so You may have a hard time catching up with the brief period of extreme cold we are seeing. Instead opt for Hold or Permanent Hold and lock in the temperature for a day or two.
