AJ Manufacturing Employee’s Son Receives NFBA Scholarship
Tyler Thommesen, son of Scott and Sara Thommesen of Altoona, has been awarded a $2,000 scholarship from the National Frame Builders Association (NFBA), an organization of which AJ Manufacturing is a member.
The NFBA Foundation scholarship program is exclusively available to NFBA members and their immediate family members pursuing a college degree in a construction-related field. Tyler learned of the opportunity through his father, Scott, a Sales Representative at AJ Manufacturing, and applied immediately.
A 2022 graduate of Altoona High School, Tyler is currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management at the University of Wisconsin–Stout. He is in his fourth year of study and is on track to graduate in the spring of 2027.
While attending college, Tyler has gained hands-on experience working in residential and post frame construction with Quality Construction and Remodeling of Bloomer, Wisconsin. He is also looking forward to a summer 2026 internship with American Engineering Testing, Inc. (AET Inc.), where he will work as a Civil Engineering intern conducting compression testing and ground core sample analysis both in the field and in a laboratory setting.
Tyler is extremely proud of his accomplishments to date and hopes to start his own construction-related business in the future.
