There is nothing worse than being stranded on the highway with a blown-out hub—especially when it's easily preventable! Whether you're hauling your boat to the lake or packing up the camper for a family getaway, safe travels start from the ground up. Here’s an example of using the grease fittings on EZ l**e axles. This customer didn’t know that this could happen. We see this a lot. If you repack your bearings once a year or every 12,000 miles your do not need to put grease into the EZ l**e fittings.
Now on boat trailers you should install bearing buddies. They work differently. They have a weep hole on the side so you don’t over grease. I have seen a lot of boat trailers that have EZ l**e axles and they don’t keep water out of the bearings.
