🔔 Member Reminder: If you receive our reduced electric heating rate, please keep your heat submeter turned on year-round. Especially during cooling season, the submeter needs power to continue recording usage. Turning it off could affect your eligibility for the reduced heating rate.

🥔 That's a lot of potatoes! 🥔

The Oahe Electric crew spent the morning volunteering at Feeding South Dakota, helping bag 6,500 pounds of potatoes for families in need.

We're back in the office and ready to assist our members, but we're proud to have spent part of our day helping make a difference in our communities.

Thanks to Feeding South Dakota for all they do!

⚡ Teaching electrical safety one classroom at a time! ⚡

Our linemen recently visited local 5th grade classrooms with the High Voltage Demonstration Trailer (HVDT) to help students learn about the dangers of electricity and how to stay safe around power lines and electrical equipment.

Through hands-on demonstrations and real-world examples, students saw firsthand why electrical safety is so important. We enjoy the opportunity to connect with area youth and help build awareness that can prevent accidents and save lives.

A big thank you to the schools, teachers, and students for welcoming us into your classrooms!

As you enjoy another great South Dakota hunting season, please remember to hunt safely and be aware of your surroundings. Before taking a shot, always look beyond your target and stay clear of power lines and other electrical equipment.

Shooting near power lines can damage equipment, cause power outages, and create serious safety hazards.

We hope everyone enjoys a safe and successful hunt filled with good memories, good dogs, and plenty of birds!

Charge on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk, or floor. Beds, couches, and pillows can trap heat and block airflow, which can cause a battery to overheat. For more info: fpw.org.

Unplug your device when it is fully charged. Leaving it plugged in longer than needed can increase heat and stress on the battery. For more info: fpw.org.

Stop using your device right away if the battery smells strange, is warm to the touch, makes popping noises, changes in shape or color, or if you see smoke. If it is safe, move the device away from anything that can catch fire. A damaged battery can
