Job Description:
McClendon Engineering, Inc is seeking a Structural Design Engineer (EIT/PE) with 2-6 years experience, and a Structural Project Manager (PE/SE) with 6-10 years experience specifically designing low rise commercial buildings.
This is a full time position in our Boise, Idaho office and offers competitive salary with benefits. Hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.
Duties Include:
Structural calculations and detailing of commercial and residential low rise buildings.
Design and detailing of wood and masonry buildings.
Design and detailing of cold form and structural steel buildings.
Design and detailing of concrete foundations, retaining walls, and frames.
Answering RFI’s, reviewing shop drawing submittals, writing field reports.
Develop gravity and lateral loads per the 2018 IBC.
Communicate effectively with Drafting and Administrative staff.
Perform site visits, foundation and attic inspections, and other potentially physical duties that may require getting dirty.
Design coordination with Architects, contractors, building owners and other engineers outside of the office.
Essential Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate must be self motivated, have a professional attitude, be able to communicate with a variety of client types, and enjoy working in a fast paced small office environment.
Bachelors Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in Structures.
2-10 years of qualified experience specifically designing low rise buildings.
Idaho PE (preferred)
Experience designing and detailing structures using wood, steel, masonry, and reinforced concrete.
Proficient using ENERCALC, RISA 3D, and other structural engineering software.
Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit (or ArchiCAD).
LEED AP is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, self awareness, and attention to detail.
