Barndominium financing can be challenging, but with the right design and builder, the process can go smoothly. A couple thoughts:

1. Finance companies don’t want any wood in the ground. So, piers, perma-columns, or slab install are necessary.
2. All egress requirements must be met, even when built on outside of a code adopted municipality.

There are three primary ways to attach your post frame structure to the ground: treated post's in the ground (good), on piers or perma-columns (better), or directly onto a concrete slab (best). The latter is the most common and best method for rot and pest resistance.
