UPDATE, 1:25 PM: Crews are working to remove the tree and replace two broken poles and other equipment. Current estimate is the outage possibly lasting well into the afternoon due to the extensive damage. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we work to keep any outage to a minimum.

The 2026 CYCLE program was held last week in Jefferson City where SWEC sponsored two local students to join 110 high school students from across Missouri! Donald Potter of Fair Play and Jace Mashburn of Bolivar joined in the action-filled four days to learn politics, the cooperative form of business, and leadership.

The CYCLE program is in its 23rd year and is a recipient of the National Community Youth Service award for top youth program among all electric cooperatives in the country! 🎉

UPDATE July 5, 12:15 PM: We have dropped below 2,000 remaining outages. SWEC and mutual aid crews continue to make progress and will work throughout the day to get power restored. We can't thank you enough for your patience and understanding!

UPDATE July 5, 8 AM: Crews made significant progress yesterday afternoon and overnight restoring about 9,000 services, bringing our total outages down to 3,200 this morning. We are thankful to welcome additional mutual aid crews this morning to aid in restoration efforts! We are hopeful to have the majority of services restored today. We understand prolonged power outages can be frustrating and we thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Crews will continue working around the clock to get power restored. Damage is extensive on our system and across large portions of central Missouri. Track progress on the statewide outage map: https://www.amec.org/statewide-outage-map
