⚡ Before you fire up your generator, be sure you understand how to operate it safely and beware of the risks involved!

✅ Read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions
✅ Run outdoors — never in garages/sheds
✅ Don't plug directly into the wall to avoid backfeed
✅ Use heavy-duty cords and a transfer switch to safely connect
✅ Keep children & pets away from generators
✅ Unplug equipment before shutting down safely after use

⚡ Muhlbauer visits Midland Power

Lt. Gov. candidate and Rob Sand running mate Dave Muhlbauer visited Midland Power’s Boone training field and office yesterday to learn more about how electric cooperatives are working to ensure reliability and keep rates affordable.

Muhlbauer spent time learning firsthand how Midland's linemen train for emergencies and perform hazardous storm restoration work, often in extreme weather conditions.

He also joined representatives from Iowa Association of Electric Cooperatives, Central Iowa Power Cooperative, and Corn Belt Power Cooperative for a roundtable discussion about state energy policy, the challenges and opportunities facing Iowa’s electric cooperatives, and how co-ops are helping to power rural economic development.
