In 1981 we moved to Bar Harbor, Maine and the development of a new line of electronic consumer weather instrumentation began with the WS-1000, the first digital weather station. cility in downtown Bar Harbor. In 1991 the success of the consumer-based instrument line led to the development of an industrial line. The industrial equipment quickly became recognized for its customizable configuration, NIST traceability, and, unheard of at the time, 5-year warranty. In 2020, RainWise was acquired by Nielsen-Kellerman, joining their other top Weather and Environmental Instruments brands. Today, RainWise is proud to continue producing American-made products.
