Praxis Precision Medicines

Praxis Precision Medicines Praxis has established a diversified, multimodal CNS portfolio with four clinical-stage product candidates across movement disorders and epilepsy.

Praxis Precision Medicines is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company translating insights from genetic epilepsies into the development of therapies for central nervous system, or CNS, disorders characterized by neuronal excitation-inhibition imbalance Praxis Precision Medicines is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company translating insights from genetic epilepsies into the development of th

erapies for CNS disorders characterized by neuronal excitation-inhibition imbalance. Praxis is applying genetic insights to the discovery and development of therapies for neurological disorders through our proprietary small molecule platform, Cerebrum™, and antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) platform, Solidus™, using our understanding of shared biological targets and circuits in the brain. Our mission is to help patients by delivering life-altering treatments faster and more effectively than has ever been done before – and to do it again and again. We pursue the development of candidates that address the treatment needs of patients, caregivers and the treating community, including targeting the underlying disease pathology versus just symptom management. We intend to develop therapies that provide patients long-term relief from their disorders and significantly reduce the overall burden to patients and caregivers.

Cliff doesn't shy away from a hard problem. He runs toward it.

He joined Praxis at a pivotal moment, with multiple programs advancing through late-stage clinical development. That kind of momentum comes with aggressive timelines and plenty of unknowns, exactly the kind of challenge he was looking for.

"I enjoy the challenge of tackling complex problems and finding creative solutions, even when timelines are aggressive or the path forward isn't obvious. Praxis encourages curiosity, innovation, and thoughtful risk-taking, which makes the work both rewarding and impactful."

That mindset, curious, creative, and unafraid of a hard problem, is what keeps Praxis moving toward patients faster.

Every family’s journey with rare epilepsy is unique. Some families are navigating seizures. Others are managing developmental delays, learning differences, or a genetic diagnosis. No two experiences are exactly alike.

Praxis is committed to supporting families affected by rare epilepsies through ongoing education, awareness, and engagement.

Team Praxis took part in this year’s FamilieSCN2A Conference and Research Roundtable.

Our President of Research and Development, Steve Petrou, joined two roundtable discussions bringing together families, researchers, clinicians, and industry, drawing on more than 20 years of SCN2A research to discuss the field’s progress and the path ahead. He also spoke on the importance of endpoints that capture non-seizure outcomes alongside seizure measures, and on collaboration across the broader DEE community.

Praxis presented two scientific posters and hosted a booth throughout the conference, meeting with families and researchers to discuss our programs and science.

Thank you to the SCN2A Related Autism & Epilepsy: The FamilieSCN2A Foundation for organizing the conference.

Representing Praxis were Kacie Craig, Orrin Devinsky, Raquel Miralles, PhD, Steven Petrou, Ashish Sagrolikar, Brian Spar, and Stephen Tapanes, PhD.

Many families are familiar with their child’s diagnosis but may be less familiar with the term developmental and epileptic encephalopathy (DEE).

DEEs are a group of conditions where epilepsy and development are interconnected. While every child’s journey is different, many families share common questions about seizures, developmental milestones, learning, and support.

At Praxis, we’re committed to advancing awareness, education, and innovation for people living with rare epilepsies and their families.

Praxis was proud to sponsor the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County Education Conference recently, and our team was there to take part in the conversation. This year's theme, Advances in Epilepsy: Innovations, Progress & Emerging Treatments, brought together experts in the field to talk about new treatments and the latest research shaping epilepsy care.

Conversations like these matter, because they connect the people advancing epilepsy care with the patients, families, and caregivers.

Thank you to the EFSDC team for a well-run event.

The burden of Essential Tremor runs deep.

Surveys of 400+ U.S. adults with ET show that up to 80% change how they go about daily tasks because of their symptoms. One of the biggest challenges? The ability to work.

At Praxis, we understand the urgent unmet needs of people living with ET and are committed to developing potential new treatment options. Learn more about our work at: https://www.praxisessentialtremor.com

Suzanne didn't come to Praxis for a job. She came to help change what it feels like to live with a complex brain disorder.

As Praxis builds out its patient services program, her focus is on understanding what patients, caregivers, and families actually need and showing up as a trusted, ongoing source of support long after a treatment reaches them.

What keeps her energized? The culture. A purpose-driven mindset that doesn't live just at the leadership level but runs through every conversation and every decision across the organization.

That's the Praxis difference.

The science brought Lauren to Praxis. The patients made it personal.

When Lauren joined in 2018, she was drawn in by the breadth of the pipeline and the team's ability to translate genetics into CNS drug discovery. A company with multiple assets, real scientific flexibility and a compelling vision for what precision medicine could do for patients.

But there was something else. Lauren had epilepsy as a child. The patients Praxis is working to help aren't abstract to her. They never have been.

That kind of connection runs deep at Praxis. It shows up in how we work, why we stay and what we're building toward.

Did you know Essential Tremor is the most common movement disorder? An estimated 7 million people in the U.S. live with ET—that’s 8 times more than those with Parkinson’s.

“I want other people with ET to know that they aren’t alone. Parkinson’s disease gets talked about more than ET, and yet, far more people have ET.” – Allison, living with ET

It’s time to raise awareness. Let’s spread the word.
