Today is International Childhood Cancer Day—a day to stand up for kids battling cancer worldwide. While science is making progress, policies shape the future of treatments, and right now, there's a critical bill in the U.S. that needs our voices: The Give Kids a Chance Act.

At Oncoheroes Biosciences, we are exclusively dedicated to developing new therapies for childhood cancer. But research alone isn’t enough—strong policies are key to making sure kids get the treatments they deserve.

In the U.S., the RACE for Children Act ensures that new cancer drugs are studied in children, but there's a major gap: kids with cancer often need drug combinations, and companies aren’t required to test those in children. The Give Kids a Chance Act closes this gap, helping kids access the most promising treatments.

Here’s why this bill matters:

✅ It keeps the Pediatric Voucher Program alive, which gives companies a real incentive to develop childhood cancer drugs
✅ It pushes for drug combinations to be studied in kids, giving them access to the best possible treatments
✅ It strengthens the Orphan Drug Act, encouraging more innovation in rare pediatric cancers
✅ It holds pharma companies accountable if they don’t complete required pediatric studies

This bill had strong bipartisan support in 2024 and was even included in Congress' end-of-year funding bill—until it was suddenly dropped. We can’t let that happen again!
