This week, as we do every year, we paused to honor and remember the Ironworkers who never made it home from the jobsite.

Each year, we remember the Local 7 brothers and sisters who lost their lives doing their jobs throughout our 130-year history. Reading the 86 names aloud reminds us that the work we do is about more than just the structures we build. It is about the lives, families, and sacrifices behind the hard hats.

Their memory lives on in every beam raised and every job built, union strong.

We will never forget them. 🇺🇸

Today, we honor our troops who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom, especially all of the Local 7 veterans. Today, we remember those we lost, honor the families who carry their legacy forward, and reflect upon the courage and determination of all of our military personnel, past and present.

Wishing all of our members and families a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

As Ironworkers, we look out for one another every day on and off the job.

Local 7 is now offering QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Gatekeeper Training for our members. QPR is similar to CPR, but for mental health emergencies. Local 7’s QPR Gatekeeper Training gives members the tools to recognize warning signs and help connect someone to support when they need it most.

Our next class will take place on June 25 at 4:30 p.m. at the union hall, 195 Old Colony Ave., Boston. Members must sign up in advance. Sign-up sheets will be available at the hall and union meeting, or members can email Mike Smith at [email protected] with their name, email, and phone number.
