Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Although slavery ended with the proclamation of the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, it took until June 19, 1865, for the message to reach all enslaved people in the USA. Recognized as a federal holiday since 2021, celebratory traditions often include public readings of the Emancipation Proclamation, singing traditional songs, and reciting works by noted African American writers.

An exciting milestone for the Sturbridge Roundabout project!

Last night, HSH was proud to lead the Design Public Hearing for the Sturbridge Roundabout project alongside MassDOT and the Town of Sturbridge, engaging with community members and sharing the vision for improved safety, accessibility, and traffic operations in the area. Christopher Lyman, P.E., Michaela Siegert, P.E., PTOE, RSP1, Nicholas Manz, and Taylor O'Neill provided detailed information and insight about the design process, and their efforts have been instrumental in moving the project forward.

With the hearing complete, the project is now advancing toward the 75% design phase. We look forward to continuing our partnership with MassDOT and the Town of Sturbridge as this important transportation improvement project progresses. Well done, all!
